A Welcoming Home for International Guests in the Heart of Atlanta, Georgia

Villa International is a 33-room residence founded in 1967 as a “home away from home” for international guests in Atlanta. Villa offers short-term housing for those looking for a friendly and affordable place to stay. Since our doors opened in 1972, we have hosted over 27,000 residents from 179 countries.

Located adjacent to the Emory University campus, our residents are primarily international researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory.  Many others, such as public health professionals of all varieties, interning doctors, students, and seminarians, have also called Villa home during their stay in Atlanta.

It’s an amazing accommodation for students and workers from all around the world! It’s located right next to Emory Village and CDC. It’s very affordable, the staff and landlords are super kind. They provide you with everything you need! A library, a laundry room, a kitchen, etc…Volunteers offer daily rides to grocery stores and other places when you gotta run some errands. Also, they offer free room service once a week! All in all it’s the perfect place when you have to stay far far away from home. The international and multi cultural experience I made there was unforgettable. I’d give 6 out of 5 stars!

It has been great to stay with you. You made my 6 months go by like nothing and I consider you my second family. Villa really is a home away from home! I will miss you all so much! Keep the spirit of the place the same.

I wanted to thank you for making my short stay in the states a memorable experience. I got to know so many beautiful souls at Villa that gave me unfadeable memories. Inna, Katie and Rebecca, thanks for everything you did to make this place my home away from home. Gonna miss everything about this warm Villa.

A home away from home… Such a unique place to arrive to when one is coming from abroad to work at the CDC. The Villa family has made my experience in Atlanta a blessing and has helped me relax outside of work and connect with others who were also away from home.

Being an international student might be really hard at the beginning; we have a lot to assimilate: the new country, different language, and new routine and new people. Villa International offers an environment that helps us to surpass all these things. When I first came, I did not have big expectations about the place; for me it was more the convenience of being at a place near Emory University and with affordable price. It was also the only one that replied to my emails. I could not be more wrong: Villa was beyond that! It was a full experience of life concentrated in a 6-month period. Here I met people from the whole world, from countries that I never imagined one day to meet. Here I learned about cultures, religions, habits, about people and their histories, here I could improve myself and be a better person. Villa is a community, a place where you can feel good and happy being a part of, where everyone is prompt to help one another.  In Brazil we used to say that home is where our heart is; well, Villa is a home that I have, even if I am not there anymore. All the friends that I have made I will carry for my life.

Villa International is an ideal place for anyone who needs to work or study for a longer or shorter time at Emory University or at CDC or any other place close to these institutions. The rent is not expensive, we do our own cooking, the volunteers help you for the transportation and for the tourist outings (Dahlonega, etc). I particularly appreciated the friendliness that makes you forget that you are far from home and your family.
