We understand that you are upset about receiving a $20 kitchen fee. Unfortunately, it happens to everyone and is not a big deal at Villa. We still love you and staff also have gotten fines!

What we don't love is when we give guests a fine and they deny it even when we give them pictures showing them doing it, warning them with signs, paperwork, policies, and in the tour, and being told we are unfair when 50 people use the kitchen and they want us to make an exception just for them. Once in a while guests truly do have a legitimate reason for not receiving a fine (i.e. it was not theirs.) But 95% of the time, we waste time documenting the original incident, arguing with guests, and then showing them more evidence again. It is a waste of our time and guests have gotten acusatory and disrespectful to staff which will not be tolerated.

Rebecca will be handling the review of all challenges and will make all final calls. Please think hard before submitting this and know that your fine will double and you will be required to pay only (no cleaning option) after you submit this if you are found guilty! The criteria for the fine are simple and clear:

  1. Was the person who is fined responsible for the actual item/action in question?
  2. Did they leave the kitchen/dining room before cleaning/drying/putting away the item?

Please understand that I will not take into account your intentions or extenuating circumstances. We have to go by this policy to keep things even for everyone.

Were you given a photo of yourself committing the infraction? (Rebecca will also have a copy)
Were you given a photo of the issue remaining after you left the kitchen or dining area? Please remember that it is not overnight--you need to be in the dining room or kitchen or you will be fined.
Please note that the excuses of: 1) I did not know about the fine despite 50 signs in the kitchen, 2) It was not overnight, 3) Someone else must have used that same bowl and left it in the same sink even though there are pictures, 4) We should get a warning first, or 5) I am a special, fragile flower and never do anything wrong, etc. are not considered valid reasons.
